The Colorado Shakespeare Festival School Tour brings abridged versions of Shakespeare's plays to schools all over Colorado.
In these plays, the troupe of three actors play all of the characters within the play, taking on different costume pieces and voices in order to tell the Bard's stories.
After seeing Shakespeare's word in action, students are invited to a violence prevention and anti-bullying workshop, where actors use scenes from the play to act out role-plays where the students can intervene and stop the violence or mistreatment they see happening between Shakespeare's characters.
Through the Pioneer Leadership Program at the University of Denver, our team developed and taught a theatre program to students with disabilities at Littleton Public Schools. With focuses in social engagement and teamwork, the curriculum concluded with a show created and written by the students.
